Ultimate Frisbee
Outside of the office, Dr. Bomberg is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player. Originally taking up the sport as a college student, Dr. Bomberg would go on to coach others and eventually compete at an international level. In 2014, Dr. Bomberg and the Drag’n Thrust Ultimate Frisbee Team won the World Ultimate Club Championship.
2005 - 2008: Tom Bomberg first started playing Ultimate Frisbee during his second year as a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He quickly became a team captain during his first season, and retained the title until his senior year. While in college, Tom also played on a Club Ultimate team, “Oh Boy!”, from 2007 until 2008.
2008 - 2009: After graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Tom coached the Hopkins High School Junior Varsity Team. Tom would later end his coaching career in order to join the team Drag’n Thrust.
2009 - 2010: During the winter of 2010, Tom decided to take some time off from Drag’n Thrust while he lived in Israel. However, he didn’t stop playing Ultimate Frisbee during his time in Israel. He became active in the Ultimate Peace program, and even competed in the Israeli National Championships.
2011 - 2012: Following his return to the United States in 2011, Tom continued playing for Drag’n Thrust. He decided to take the 2012 season off to focus on completing his Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University.
2013 - 2014: Tom rejoined Drag’n Thrust in 2013, and helped them to the USA Ultimate Frisbee National Championship title, where they qualified for the World Championships in Lecco, Italy.
2014 World Championship: In August of 2014, Tom and the Drag’n Thrust team competed in the World Championships in Lecco, Italy. In a grueling 5-day stretch, Tom played an integral role in helping Drag’n Thrust win the World Ultimate Club Championship, beating teams from across the globe to take home the title.
